I am not exaggerating when I tell you that these two people are two of the kindest souls I have been lucky enough to work for. A few weeks back, I was walking around Tokyo and managed to pick up some random wifi long enough to hear my emails ding. I continued to open the most beautiful email from these two with regards to their freshly received photographs. The very late nights and editing marathon were instantly worth it. Hell, it was worth it before then.
In this business, and many creative businesses, you put so much soul into your work. You work your bottom off on the day, but those hours after, they are all about making corrections to light, colour and tone until you can't even decipher the differences anymore. I'm my biggest critic, and I am almost never completely feel satisfied with my own work. And that is because all I want, at the end of the day, is for the person or people receiving the photographs to be one hundred and fifty percent in love with the product. I don't want them to love it, I need them to love it. It's a blessing and a curse because although they may love it, you don't always get a thank you. People are busy, traveling, working, living. But when you do, and it's like the one from these sweet souls, you cry a little bit in the middle of the street.
Thank you to you both. For not only inviting me into one of the greatest days of your life, but for reminding me of why it's worth it. You helped me a lot that day. Gratitude always wins.
All my love X
