"I'm not sure how but as the time passes my heart simply seems to grow. More room is created every day for all the things I love about you."
This family has a very special place in my heart. Three years ago to the night these photographs were taken, I photographed Ellie & Stephen's wedding. Last year I met Teddy, their baby boy born in March. Then, early April of this year, on the night of their third wedding anniversary, we met again in Hahndorf to photograph these. When I drove home from the hills after this, I truly, honestly had the biggest feelings of gratitude and contentment. I felt, and still feel, so privileged to grow with families like this, to share in their joy. It's so special.
"You are not a drop in the ocean. You are an entire in ocean in one drop."
This family. Where do I start and what do I say to sum up just how beautiful they are? Jessica and Matt are raising their three little boys to be such gorgeous beings. I was just so happy to invited in to photograph them & their newest addition. The set of the two older boys, Samson and Rupert, admiring their newest brother just melts my heart. I can only imagine how their Mum and Dad must feel.
I edited this entire gallery to this song. These girls are two of the brightest lights I've had the pleasure of photographing. Bec has been a long time family friend, and her daughter Arabella (three years) has to be the most spirited child we have had the pleasure of watching grow. Their love is a beautiful, and I think you'll agree after looking at this gallery that their bond is so undeniably strong. As Bec and I walked back from the beach, I explained to her how important what she just did was. She photographed her love for her child, and the two of them will be able to look back on these for many, many years to come. That right there fills my heart with the kind of joy that keeps me up editing all night long.
Happy weekend X
Heidi has always been a huge inspiration to me. She's a very clever dietician who resides on the glorious Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. If you're not familiar with her blog already, I suggest you go check it out here and make her spelt banana bread immediately. And her granola. And her porridge. Last week we got the chance to meet over some yummy food and a small portraiture session centred around her six month old bubba, Joan.
After a beautiful breakfast at Three Bags Full in Abbotsford, Heidi, Joan & I headed across the street to take some snaps. Thankfully, Ben was also able to join us part way through. What I love most about these photographs is that the love between these three is so plain to see. And what's even better is that we have been able to preserve that in a number of still frames which they will all grow to cherish in the years to come. Photography is marvellous. Love is marvellous. It's been a beautiful week.
I will be returning to Melbourne in April (around the 16th-20th) & will have limited spots available for family sessions. If you would like to book a spot, please contact me as soon as possible.
