"Thats it. You have it. My whole heart, for my whole life."
Well, my apologies because it's now mid-March and this beautiful Al Ru Farm wedding was my second to last of 2016, on December 30th. I delivered this beautiful day back in January and have been meaning to blog it since.
Tristan & Stephanie put on such a low key day, filled with so much dancing and high energy. I remember at our last communication before the wedding, Steph said: "I just want formalities done, I want to dance." And that we did. That's how a wedding should be, right?
T&S were just so clearly excited to be marrying one another and I loved that. The other stand out for their day was Steph learning a song on piano to surprise Tristan with during speeches. It melted my heart, so I can only imagine how Tristan felt. Love, love, love.

When I was first 'starting out' in photography, I used to style my own shoots for fun. My friends and I would pick out pretty faces, source clothing from boutiques around Adelaide, and travel to a location spend the afternoon shooting somewhere. Those photographs are actually still pinned to my bedroom wall, because god, they were some good times. Those photographs also serve as a daily reminder that this began as a hobby for me and it's where my heart is. I didn't set out to make a photography a career, I fell in love with it. That's incredibly cliche, especially for 2pm in the afternoon, but it's true all the same.
This leads me to a point, I promise. What I'm focusing on at the moment, is keeping the hobby aspect alive. I want to allow myself the time to photograph for fun, no matter how hectic things become. I want to allow time to fall deeper and deeper.
After Wednesday's shoot, I felt so completely invigorated and alive. I couldn't sleep that night or the night after. Every time I'd wake, I'd think of the photographs and I'd want to keep working. I'm a 8 hours-a-night sleeper, so this has taken it's toll but you know what? I am fine, I am so happy. I'll take the clumsiness & fogginess that comes with lack of sleep any day of the week if it means I feel as alight as I do after shooting something like this.
My deepest thanks to Anastasia & Caroline from Elly & Elm for bringing this shoot to life. Just before I went to Japan, I texted Anastasia a photograph I saw and loved. I said: "can we make this" and honestly, that's all I had to say. When I came home, it was done. These women are incredibly creative and hardworking. They have an eye for detail that I have yet to see anywhere else.
Thank you to Steph & Alex for volunteering your time to model for us. You were brilliant and I adore you both. And finally, thank you to our other talented vendors for your services. I have so much love for everyone, I feel like I might burst if I don't write it out here. So thank you!
My, what a truly wonderful day it was. Tessa and Josh were married at Al Ru Farm on January third. It was one of those days where everything effortlessly flowed from one part to the next. And filled with such a beautiful bunch of people. Honestly, Tessa & Josh I felt like I had known you for years. It was such a spectacular and emotional day. I hope these photographs help you to remember & treasure this day for many happy years to come.
