"...the symbol that whispers: all of my yesterday's & all of my tomorrow's"
Photographing these two was like photographing two of my oldest friends. For whatever reason, it felt like I had known these two for years. They let me in, and allowed me to photograph their love. My job really was easy because their connection is so palpable.
So Georgia & Chris, thank you again for such a beautiful night. You two are special.
"Here we are, at the beginning of your life and you don't know it just yet but the greatest adventure awaits."
Sweet baby Gracie at eight days old. Little bub didn't want to miss a moment, and fought sleep pretty much the whole session. But that allowed us to capture some of my favourite parent/baby photographs to date.
It reminded me that getting Mum & Dad into the frame is so incredibly important. In that newborn haze, you will fill your camera rolls with image after image after image. You'll capture all of those faces and expressions and it makes me so sad to think parents might not make it into those frames. Those photographs & those moments captured between you all are so precious. Perhaps even more so than baby alone? This is the reason I always encourage parents to jump in. Regardless of how you think you look, they are always, always beautiful memories to keep.
Happy Weekend to you & yours,
""First we had each other, and then we had you. Now we have everything."
I edited this entire gallery to this song. These girls are two of the brightest lights I've had the pleasure of photographing. Bec has been a long time family friend, and her daughter Arabella (three years) has to be the most spirited child we have had the pleasure of watching grow. Their love is a beautiful, and I think you'll agree after looking at this gallery that their bond is so undeniably strong. As Bec and I walked back from the beach, I explained to her how important what she just did was. She photographed her love for her child, and the two of them will be able to look back on these for many, many years to come. That right there fills my heart with the kind of joy that keeps me up editing all night long.
Happy weekend X
